Fire is destruction itself. Without an alchemist's hand, it kills and tears down villages, cities and towns. Add it to a man and he becomes the wielder of it. Man itself is already dangerous enough, a few with flames at the beck and call is more threatening. Its meant to be hidden and pushed away. No one should see the secrets. I see that now.

When Roy’s eyes were healed by the Philosopher’s Stone, he didn’t tell anyone about it. He actually faked his blindness for weeks, because he likes having Riza near him and holding him for support.
Riza was aware of this fact, but she went along with it, because she enjoyed it too.
