“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” Elbows supported her curvy frame as she leaned on the white tablecloth. “I assure you, I will be more careful next time. After all, the element of surprise has been eliminated. I now know the extent of the alchemy you cherish so much.”

Threats could go both ways, though a small part of the woman spoke those words merely to comfort herself…

The colonel stiffened in his seat, back straight and a pause in his breathing. He wasn’t afraid, per say, but there was the lingering of the feeling he had back when he fought in the war of Ishval, the hint of fear mixed with bravery, or stupidity, to take someone like her on. 

"The element of surprise has been eliminated for you to appear and kill me, but you wouldn’t do that, because I’m sure that’s not your nature. Your nature is want and desire, correct? Not murder and anger. However much you want revenge, you wont be satisfied. I know some sins enough to be able to tell that.”

His voice was nearing the side of threatening, but he leveled it, wanting to keep it neutral and contain himself to show she wasn’t angering him.
