The colonel
stumbled back and to the ground with a grunt, his head hitting the floor averagely hard. He groaned lifting his head and rubbing it uncomfortably, only then noticing the odd position he had struggled to get his hand from his side in. His eye cracked open slightly, both opening and growing wide at the face inches from him.

“…uh..

He shuffled beneath her, the red tint coming to his cheeks momentarily.

The goddess raised her hands, knowing it was a sign humans use when one means that they do not intend harm. Squinting her eyes, she looked at his gloves. What…peculiar inscriptions of them. “I do apologize, beloved, as I did not intend to injure you in any way. I was merely, trying to get a sense of closeness.” She looked at him with pleading eyes. It was in her nature to feel the people she spoke to, to get a sense of them.

Shaking her head, Ana sighed. “Fallen from home, beloved. Fallen on Earth from the Skies, from my Heavens. All because I have sinned and loved the Baron of Death, when I shouldn’t have. You see, my dear, it is not good to mix the good and the bad of the world, for the consequences will never lean towards the virtue.”

♟—Eyebrows arched at her when she spoke her defense, Mustang’s expression to one taken over by confusion. “You need to know someone before you gain  a sense of closeness with them.” He replied, his gaze turned hard again and his expression defensive over himself for protection and somewhat mean towards the woman. “Keep your hands to yourself here, no one takes kindly to woman suddenly wanting touch of another person that she’s never met before.”

Confusion returned to his face as she listened to his explanation. Homunculi certainly weren’t from the skies. Neither was God on their defense. He was across the doors of a gate. “I have enough knowledge to know the good and the bad don’t mix. Not in the way you do, but I know it can’t happen.” His voice carried a harsh tone.

He shuffled beneath her, the red tint coming to his cheeks momentarily.

“Father…man? My cherished human, are there others like me?” The goddess smiled hopeful and approached him, cupping his cheeks into her warm palms. Since she arrived on Earth, she has met the weirdest of creatures, but never another God. Maybe this man knew something about them?

Her eyebrows shot up at his question. “Running wild? Quite the opposite, beloved. I am fallen. You see, I have sinned and was sent here in penitence, to grant humans wishes, to pay for what I have done wrong…although…I think I have been forgotten on this Earth to rot here.” she gave the man a bitter smile. Yes, that was true…not a sign that she was going to come back, Anaisa gave up hope to ever return home.

♟—Mustang pushed the woman back as he touched him, his hands coming from his pockets gloved with the flame transmutation symbol on the center of them. His expression twisted into one of anger as he became defensive of himself, eyes glaring towards her. “Don’t touch me.” He growled through clenched teeth. He had realized that she spoke differently than the others, calling herself a goddess as the father called himself the new god but she was to repent her sins rather than take over the world.

Fallen?” He repeated, eyebrows arched as he kept his distance. “Fallen from where?” He questioned, his voice full of confusion hidden with partial bits of anger. He may have seen Homunculi, been a sacrifice to create a philosopher’s stone and met the Truth, but somethings just still couldn’t be plausible to him. However, not impossible. So he continued to listen with questions and kept distance with his gloved hands as a weapon.

He shuffled beneath her, the red tint coming to his cheeks momentarily.

“The one of ones?” Scratching the back of her head, not quite understanding to whom he was referring to, she shook her head in denial. “I am a goddess, my dear. The goddess of love and happiness, Anaisa Pye, or simply Ana.” She bowed, similing, not understanding the danger the human could pose on her, since her powers on Earth were set to a minimum.

“Homunculi, beloved?” Her eyes grew wider, looking confused. Alchemy? Alkahestry? Those were new concepts for her…

♟–His initial reaction was one of shock, his jaw dropping and foot automatically stepping back. His eyes then narrowed, the corners of his mouth twitching in an angry manner. “So you’re like that father man, but with a proper name…” He spoke aloud, his stance returning normal, hands stuffed into his pockets to pull on his ignition gloves, if necessary, and eyes down to appear discreet.

“You’re just running around wild now?” He asked without a glance up to her. His fingers managed to slide into the correct places of his gloves in his pockets, the shuffling slightly obviously but attempting to be kept quiet.

The goddess bowed, appreciating his understanding and forgetting the small incident. She saw him rubbing the back of his neck and leaned closer to him, putting her palm on the nape of his neck. A warm feeling started emanating from her hand to the colonel’s head as she made the pain silence its sting.

“Ah, is it odd for humans to read books while walking?” she inquired as she healed him, tilting her head. She was genuinely curious about the differences between what she thought was normal and what humans did or on the contrary, found peculiar.

As the pain subsided, he stiffened then suddenly relaxing with a kind smile. “Thank you. But that wasn’t necessary.” He replied, expecting to be the effects of studied Alkahestry. His eyebrows then arched at the way she phrased the sentence, taking a wary step back and eyes regarding her hastily. He found no visible ourobouos mark.

He didn’t answer the question, his gaze turned hard and posture stiffened again, remaining that way this time. He flicked through the knowledge he knew of most non-human creatures. “Homunculi can’t perform Alchemy or Alkahestry. Unless you’re another of the one of ones.” He explained aloud, his hands moving into his pockets for his ignition gloves.

Red engulfing her cheeks, the goddess gasped, too shocked to move. She knew walking while reading was going to end up bad, but she expected something more of a ‘stub my toe’ rather than ‘fall on a soldier in such a position’. What if people saw them in such a position?

She groggily got off him and sat on her knees, bowing and hoping she would be forgiven. “I do apologize, beloved. I assure you I did not mean to-“

Roy had watched as she moved back off him, his hand drawing from the back of his head then to his gaze to see if there was any blood where the pain was. He sighed in relief when there wasn’t, standing up and offering a hand to the woman.

“It’s fine. Accidents happen.” His eyes glanced at the book that he presumed the woman had been reading while walking, his expression then turning awkward. “This isn’t the first time I’ve walked into a woman whose been reading..” He added, his mind being brought back to Sheska momentarily before shaking it off.
